A recipe names its ingredients, its station, and the seconds it wants — and your skill level divides the seconds. Some recipes are freehand (knapping a blade wants nothing but your hands); most belong to a station: a workbench, an anvil, a forge, a butcher's block, a fire.
Taking up a station
Standing at a station is a commitment. Your body takes the pose, faces the work, and stays until the craft lands — moving interrupts and cancels it. A station's menu shows only what can be made there; the freehand recipes are always with you.
The output box
A station-made product lands in the station's own box, not your pockets. Collecting it is a separate motion — which is why a full inventory never wastes a finished craft.
The kitchen
Butchery and cooking are two crafts that work together: clean a fish at the block and the filets respect the fish's real weight, then cook them at the fire. Cooked food feeds far better than raw — see Survival.
