Enchanting

Building magical circuits on a grid.

Requires: Channelling

This feature is designed and not yet implemented.

An enchantment is a circuit assembled on a grid. Adjacent tiles connect automatically; there are no explicit wires. An enchantment obeys the same law as a channelled cast.

Components

  • Cell. Holds charge and recharges on its own.
  • Sensor. Emits a small current while its condition holds. Conditions include a hostile within range, an impact, and the wearer's command.
  • Gate. Passes the main current while it receives a sensor current.
  • Emitter. Converts current into an effect.
  • Conduit. Carries current. Its resistance is proportional to its length.

Logic

Sensors in series act as AND. Sensors in parallel act as OR. A gate is either momentary, discharging the cell once when it closes, or latching, staying open while its sensor is active.

Appearance

An enchanted item has no visible indicator other than its effect.
